How to use your sewing skills to alter clothing and save money

I have been sewing since I was a teenager. My mother was instrumental in developing my sewing skills, and I am so grateful. Because, when I need to raise the hem on trousers or take in the waist I can do the work myself rather than paying a seamstress. I am not the best in the world, but I can get the job done. When I moved to Melbourne in 2006, I purchase a second hand sewing machine and transported it home on the rear rack of my bicycle. Living expense for March 2017

I never set a monthly budget for myself, I just prefer not to spend money because I will never see it again. So I think very carefully before I purchase an item. If I am going to semi retire early I need to save and invest as much as possible. This month I had the extra expense of paying for my actual boat licence. Kevin and I completed a house sit during early march but other than this we have been living on Clipper, Kevin's sailboat. So it was pretty much an average month spending wise for me.
